How can we help?

Answers and how-to guides for students, tutors and promoters.

πŸ”
What is Bolchaall? β€Ί
Bolchaall is an online platform for learning spoken languages. You can take live 1-to-1 or group classes with tutors, study structured self-paced material, practise with AI worksheets, and track progress with streaks, XP and certificates.
How does it work? β€Ί
Create a free account, then either book a live class with a tutor or open the self-study Materials. Practise regularly to build a streak, and use worksheets and Word of the Day to reinforce what you learn.
How do I sign up? β€Ί
Click Sign up and register with your email, or use Sign in with Google. Students and tutors have their own sign-up. After signing up with email, verify your address using the link we email you.
Can I sign in with Google? β€Ί
Yes β€” use the 'Sign in with Google' button on the login or sign-up page for a one-tap account.
I forgot my password β€” what do I do? β€Ί
On the login page, click Forgot password and enter your email. We'll send you a secure link to set a new password.
Which languages can I learn? β€Ί
Bolchaall focuses on spoken-language learning with native tutors. Browse the Tutors page to see who's available and what they teach.
What does it cost? β€Ί
Creating an account and browsing is free. Live classes are paid (trials are discounted), and there are self-study material subscriptions. You'll always see the price before you confirm anything.
Is my information safe? β€Ί
Yes. Payments go through a secure gateway, tutors never see students' contact details, and we verify sign-ups by email. We only ever ask for the information needed to run your lessons.
Can I use it on my phone? β€Ί
You can browse, study materials, manage bookings and use most features on a phone. Only live teaching for tutors needs a larger screen (tablet or computer).
What are Humraahi and Ustaad? β€Ί
Humraahi is the assistant that helps you use the platform β€” signing up, booking, payments and how-to questions. Ustaad is a separate study companion that helps with the actual learning content like grammar and homework.
How do I contact support? β€Ί
Ask Humraahi (the chat helper) first β€” it can answer most questions instantly. For anything it can't resolve, use the Contact page and our support team will help.
How do I book a class? β€Ί
Open Book a Tutor, pick a tutor, choose an available time slot and confirm. Your class then appears under My Lessons, and you'll get reminders before it starts.
Do I get a free trial? β€Ί
New students can usually take a discounted trial lesson with a tutor to see if they're a good fit, before committing to a pack. You get one trial per tutor.
How do I pay for lessons? β€Ί
Payment is taken from your Wallet balance or the secure payment gateway at checkout, and you can apply a coupon if you have one. Regular classes are booked using a lesson pack (subscription) with your tutor rather than one-off purchases.
What's the difference between a material subscription and a class pack? β€Ί
A material subscription unlocks the self-study lessons library. A class pack is a set of live lessons with a specific tutor. They're separate β€” you can have either or both.
How do I see my remaining classes? β€Ί
Your remaining classes show on the tutor's card in Book a Tutor and on My Subscription, as 'lessons remaining'. Book them at any available slot until they're used up.
How do I cancel or reschedule a class? β€Ί
Open the lesson under My Lessons and choose Cancel or Reschedule. Do it early to avoid any late fee and to free the slot for others.
Will I be charged if I cancel late? β€Ί
Cancelling well in advance is free and returns the lesson to your pack. Cancelling inside the tutor's cancellation window (a late cancel) may charge the lesson, since the tutor reserved that time. The exact window is shown when you book.
How do refunds work? β€Ί
Refunds follow our refund policy β€” early cancellations and eligible cases are refunded to your wallet, while late cancellations may not be. If something went wrong with a class, raise it from the lesson or contact support and we'll look into it.
Why do I need to confirm attendance after a class? β€Ί
After a class you confirm you attended so your tutor is paid for their time. If you forget, it's auto-confirmed after a short review window. If there was a problem, you can raise a dispute instead of confirming.
How do the self-study Materials work? β€Ί
Open Materials to study at your own pace. Content is organised as Category β†’ Level β†’ Sublevel β†’ Lesson. Inside a lesson you can adjust audio speed, listen through, use speaking practice and take notes.
A lesson is locked β€” how do I open it? β€Ί
Lessons unlock in order β€” finish the current one to open the next. Some lessons need an active material subscription or a trial. If you need a locked lesson opened, use Request Unlock and your tutor or an admin can approve it.
What are AI worksheets? β€Ί
Worksheets are AI-generated practice built from the lesson you just studied. Answer them for instant grading, and earn badges and streaks. Your tutor can review your worksheet and adjust the score.
How do streaks, XP, badges and certificates work? β€Ί
Daily activity builds your streak and XP; you can opt in to a weekly leaderboard. Badges and certificates are awarded at milestones and appear on your Progress and certificate pages.
Are group classes cheaper? β€Ί
Yes β€” group classes are cheaper per lesson than solo classes, while still being live with a tutor. You'll see the group option and its discount when booking.
Why do I need to verify my email? β€Ί
After signing up you'll get a verification link by email. Clicking it activates your account and helps us keep the platform free of fake sign-ups. If it didn't arrive, check spam or use Resend.
Can I switch to a different tutor? β€Ί
Yes. You can browse and book a different tutor at any time from Book a Tutor. Any active pack is specific to the tutor you bought it with.
I was given free classes or free material access β€” how do I use them? β€Ί
If our team granted you free classes with a tutor, they show as 'free classes' on that tutor's card β€” just book them like normal; you won't be charged. Free material access simply unlocks the Materials library for the granted period.
How do I get paid after a lesson? β€Ί
After each class, once the student confirms they attended, your share of the lesson is added to your Tutor Wallet, which you can see under Earnings. If the student forgets, attendance is auto-confirmed after the review window so you are still paid. You then withdraw your balance whenever you like.
When exactly are my earnings released? β€Ί
Earnings for a lesson are released after the lesson is completed and attendance is confirmed (either by the student or automatically after the review window). Some rewards may be held as a 'pending release' for a short period before they become withdrawable.
How do I withdraw my earnings? β€Ί
Open Earnings and choose Request Withdrawal to your saved bank details. The request goes into the admin approval queue and is paid out from there. Keep your payout details up to date in your profile.
How much do I earn per lesson? β€Ί
You receive your agreed share of each lesson's price; the platform keeps a service commission. Your exact amount for every lesson is shown in your Earnings history, calculated per lesson. Newer students and material-assisted lessons can carry different rates, which are always shown transparently in that history.
How do I become a tutor? β€Ί
Use the 'Become a Tutor' / tutor sign-up page and complete your profile (subjects, rate, intro video, documents). Your application is reviewed by our team, and you may be invited to a short Personal Interview before your profile goes live.
What is the Personal Interview (PI)? β€Ί
The Personal Interview (PI) is a short verification call some tutors are asked to complete after signing up, so we can confirm identity and teaching quality before the profile is published. You'll be guided to schedule it from your dashboard.
How do I set my availability? β€Ί
Open Availability and mark your weekly time slots. Students can only book you inside those slots, so keep them current. Make sure your timezone is set correctly, as all bookings are shown in each person's local time.
How do I run a live class? β€Ί
Open the lesson from your dashboard and click Enter Class. In the classroom you can open platform lessons, turn on Follow-Me (the student's view follows yours), use the whiteboard and annotation pen, open resources, and end the session when done. If your connection drops, rejoin and the board resumes where you left off.
Can I teach from my phone? β€Ί
Live teaching needs a larger screen β€” it is disabled on phones under 900px wide. Use a tablet in landscape or a laptop/desktop to teach. Your management pages (calendar, earnings, students) still work fine on mobile.
How do I assign homework or review worksheets? β€Ί
During or after a class you can assign homework. To review an AI worksheet, open the student's submission, check the automatic grading, and accept or adjust the score. Use Generate Preview to see a worksheet before assigning it.
What is the lesson rating at the end of a class? β€Ί
When you end a class where you used platform lessons, you'll be asked to rate those lessons (content, difficulty, engagement, pacing) so we can improve them. It's optional and can be skipped β€” it never affects your pay.
Can I see my students' contact details? β€Ί
For privacy, tutors never see students' personal contact details (email or phone) anywhere in the tutor area. You communicate through the in-platform Messages instead.
A student didn't show up β€” what do I do? β€Ί
If a student doesn't attend, you can mark the outcome from the lesson. You may offer a free reschedule, or report the no-show; genuine no-shows are handled fairly so your time is respected. Follow the prompts on the lesson to choose.
What is my Spotlight Rank? β€Ί
Spotlight Rank is an optional ranking that can influence where you appear in tutor listings. It blends your rating, lessons completed, reliability and profile completeness. Keep a strong rating and reliable attendance to rank well.
What are 'free / comp' classes I sometimes see? β€Ί
Occasionally an admin grants a student a number of free classes with you (for example as goodwill or dispute compensation). These are taught like any class; you simply won't be charged-for or paid-for those specific sessions, and they are clearly marked.
What does a promoter do? β€Ί
A promoter helps grow Bolchaall by referring new students, and earns a commission when those students take lessons. You get your own link and a dashboard to track sign-ups and rewards.
How do I become a promoter? β€Ί
Sign up as a promoter from the promoter registration page. Once your account is active, your referral link and dashboard are ready to use.
Where do I find my referral link or code? β€Ί
Your unique referral link and code are on your Promoter Dashboard. Share the link β€” anyone who signs up through it is attributed to you automatically.
How do I earn commission? β€Ί
You earn a commission on the lessons taken by students you referred. Referring a student for their trial and their continued lessons both count; your dashboard shows exactly what each referral has earned you.
When do I get paid? β€Ί
Commission is credited as your referred students complete qualifying lessons, and becomes available for payout per the promoter payout schedule shown on your dashboard.
How do I track my referrals? β€Ί
Your Promoter Dashboard lists everyone who signed up through your link, their status, and the commission each has generated, so you always know what's working.
Are there different reward levels? β€Ί
Referral rewards can include multiple levels (for example, a reward for the first lesson and ongoing rewards after that). The current rates that apply to you are shown on your dashboard.
How do I receive my payout? β€Ί
Add your payout details in your promoter profile. Payouts are issued to those details according to the schedule and minimums shown on your dashboard.
